just stuff

Surprisingly Kaylee has been up all day long, looks like someone might be sleeping all night. I've been playing around with this program that I downloaded and decorated some pictures. It's been really fun. Aaron had invited us over for a BBQ on Saturday with his family and with Jeremy's and Jennifer's family, which sounds like a ton of fun. We had received our washer and dry yesterday which I'm very excited about because I can do my laundry at home now and not go out to a laundromat. I can't believe how fast Kaylee is growing, before I know it she's gonna be going to school. Here is one of the pictures that I did.

Today

Today was a great and relaxing day. Church was very enjoyable and spiritual. Well yesterday Lacy came up to visit for the weekend. Spencer and I ended up buying our first Washer and Dryer because it had a great deal on it, so we're getting it delivered on Wednesday. I really excited because now we don't have to leave the house to do our laundry. Tomorrow Lacy and I are going to hangout together and I'm going to buy material to make a baby sling so I can hold Kaylee easier. Kaylee is getting so big she can almost hold up her head and is starting to make cooing noises like she's trying to talk to me. She likes to eat a lot and is awake a lot more now.

kaylee

As a blessing Kaylee slept for 5 hours last night. I was like what is she still sleeping. I was excited because I got more sleep at night than I usually do with her. For the last 30-40 min tonight she would nurse than fall asleep, she than would wake up 5 minutes later wanting to eat more. I sometimes wish she would finish eating than fall alseep.

Boredom

Since I'm stuck here alone with Kaylee, I decided to go for a walk in the area. It was a nice walk and the weather was perfect. I walked a little ways down Central than went back and went down Van Buren. As I was walking down Van Buren I decided to get lunch. When I got home my sister in-law called me because her mom was wondering if I was ok even though no one had told her I was going for a walk. Now I'm at home watching tv and taking care of Kaylee.

Vent

Well today isn't going as well as planned. We were planning on leaving to Tucson by now and get our taxes done and a few other errands done before I go to my best friend's shower. Well what happened was that my husband got up early got our stuff ready we needed to get our taxes done and than went to change our oil. Well he couldn't get the bolt off so he went to Jiffy Lube, but they couldn't get it off either, so they called another place because they had a special tool to get it off. Now my husband is there waiting for them to rotate the tires and to change the oil. I'm hoping we can still get out of here in a decent time to get the things we need done down there.

Update on me

Spencer, Kaylee and I are settled into our place in Avondale. I just sit home watching tv, taking naps and taking care of Kaylee. I take care of the house so Spencer feels comfortable when he comes home and get his relaxation. We are going to Tucson tomorrow to get our taxes done and so I can go to my best friends Bridal Shower. We've been friends for so long and hope to stay friends for a very long time even though we live 2 hours away. She's getting Married March 14, 2008 and I've been invited to the sealing, and am pleased that I have been. Kaylee is getting so big and is starting to smile at her mother.

Kaylee's Birth

On Sunday January 6, 2008 at 3:20 am I woke up with minor contractions. I laid in bed for an hour and a half hoping to fall back to sleep, but decided to get up because I didn't want to wake up my husband from the tossing and turning I was doing. So I decided to go on the computer to try to ignore the pain.

7:00 came and my husband got out of bed and I told him to go to church alone because I wasn't feeling well and that I think I was in labor. He said ok I'll leave my phone on silent so you can give me a call if you need me to come back. Around 9:30 I gave him a call and told him I wanted to go to the hospital and get checked out. So he came home and we left to the hospital. We got there around 11:00 and they sent me to triage and hooked me up to the monitors, at that time my contractions evidently slowed down because the nurse said that I wasn't in active labor and that I might stop having contractions. She told me to drink a gallon of water and to walk around. So we went back home and I went to relax, I tried to sleep, soak in the tub and it didn't help me. I went back onto the computer to ignore the pain again.

Around 9:00 my husband and I had put in a movie, while I tried to relax on the couch. I really enjoyed the movie and laughed with my husband. The movie ended around 11:30 and that's when my contractions got stronger and closer together. My husband was timing them they lasted over a minute and were between 3-5 min apart. I called my mom and asked if she would like to come over and keep me company and help me with my contractions because she's been through it before so around 12:00 her and my dad showed up. Around 1:00 my husband went to bed while I my mom was continuing to time my contractions.

While my mom was there I walked around my apartment, soaked in the tub and tried relaxing. The contractions got closer and stronger and the labor in my back was really bad. It was 4:00 when my dad said that we should go back into the hospital and get checked. So I went to the bedroom and woke up my husband and told him that I want to go back. He said ok let me wake up and we'll leave in a few min.

We got to the hospital around 4:45 and they hooked me up in triage again. The nurse checked me over. She told me I was dilated to a 2 and that my blood pressure was higher than normal. They were going to send me home again but my doctor said to keep me because my blood pressure was high. So I went to my room and got hooked up the IV.

Around 6:00 the nurse checked my cervix and I was dilated to a 3 and going strong. The contractions were getting stronger I was wanting to get the epidural. 8:00 came around and my husband and dad were going to get some breakfast the nurse said that my doctor was going to come at 11:30 to break my water. My husband and dad left for their breakfast. As my husband left the room I started feeling like I needed to throw up, the nurse gave me a bag and up came all the water the nurse told me to drink the first time I was in triage. While they were gone the anesthesiologist came and gave me my epidural. When 9:00 came my husband came back and I was dilated to a 4 almost a 5.

Time went by, people exchanged visiting, At 9:30 the nurse checked my temperature and I asked her if I could chew some gum, she said sure, she left the room my husband gave me the gum, I felt a kick than a pop than out went the water. I'm like Spencer my water just broke, I told the nurse and she went and called my doctor and told her not to worry about coming.

Every hour and a half the nurse checked my cervix, which progressed very fast. By about 12:00 I was at 8 and found out I was running a temperature. The nurse told my doctor and they put me on antibiotics.

By 1:00 I was dilated to a 9 and I was really excited because I thought I was going to deliver before 2:00 but that wasn't the case. I was checked every hour and a half like I have been. My doctor was getting a little worried because before I went into labor they were thinking I was going to have a big baby, so when she found out that I was dilated at a 9 still at 5:00 she was contemplating a c-section if I wasn't a 10 by 6:30.

While I was waiting for me to dilate to the 10 and to push I felt so much pressure on my tail bone every time I would have a contraction, so they got the anesthesiologist to administer a stronger dose of medication, which would make my legs more numb than what they were. 6:15 came and I had progressed to 9.5 cm and my doctor was on her way and she told me to start pushing to see if I can get dilated to a 10 by the time she gets there. So the nurse had me push and get ready for the doctor. By the time the doctor got there it was time for me to get the party started. She got there about 6:20 and got dressed.

I pushed which seemed like forever and at 6:48 out she came and they put her on my belly and washed her off with the towel. My mom cut the umbilical cord and they put her on the scale and measured her. She weighed in at 8 lbs 10.5 oz and measured 19.5 inches long.
