Vacation (soon)

Well in 3 weeks we're going to San Fransisco for vacation. I have never been there before so I'm really excited. I just don't know how to keep Kaylee occupied for the 13-14 hour trip, I did borrow my parents dvd player, but I know that wont keep her occupied for very long because she doesn't watch the tv much at home. Do you have any ideas for me?

Good Luck with that one. Andie did trips to AZ from Utah before we moved. LOT'S of SNACKS!!! That was the key!

I have to agree with the snacks. I also do books and toys like a slinky or the kind you can hook to the carseat so you don't get carsick turning around and picking it up all the time.

If at all possible, drive at night, while she's sleeping. That's always worked for us.
Snacks are golden.
Watch out how much she drinks- you don't want to have her diaper soak through her clothes, so either limit the fluids or change often!
Don't give her everything at once... just one thing at a time. Save the stuff you know will interest her for the times when nothing else works... we call those things our "last line of defense".
Make sure she's in super-comfy clothes and don't forget comfort objects, if she has any.
And if all else fails, crying it out won't hurt her... probably just irritate you :P

That's just what we've learned after several cross-country trips :)
