Spencer and I began as a married couple on May 19, 2006. We were married in Mesa, Az in the Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. About a week before our year Anniversary we found out we were going to be parents.
January 7, 2008 was the day Spencer and I became parents to a lovely girl named Kaylee. Mackenzie was born July 30, 2010. We now have 3 boys Corey, Riley and Carter. And added 1 more girl named Avery
Well since we'll be on vacation this week we celebrated Kaylee's birthday a few days early, I can't believe how fast time has flown. here are a few pictures from her little family party.
HI Ashley! I didn't really go anywhere to learn how to design... it's just something I figured out on my own. LOL!! There is a really awesome designer's course by Amanda Rockwell at ScrapArtist. You get access to her "secret" forum for a full year. She posts LOTS of tutorials and tricks to help you become a better designer. Plus, you get a $25 GC to her store, which has a lot of commercial use products. Here's where you'd buy the course: http://www.scrapartist.com/shoppe/product.php?productid=1803&cat=0&page=1
That's something to keep in mind... TOU. You cannot take a piece of someone else's designs (even just a shape) and use it in any way to create your own stuff. There are commercial use products however that you can use in your designs.... like paper texture overlays, brushes, etc. Amanda's store is great for that too: http://www.scrapartist.com/shoppe/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=26 I buy my textures because I do not own a scanner right now. I wouldn't be able to get clear textures if I photographed them. I'm hoping to get a CCD scanner soon so I can create my own textures.
About half of my elements are photographed and extracted because scrappers want realistic looking kits. Every designer should learn how to really use their camera so they can get good, clear shots of elements (like ribbons and buttons). I always do the 100% test. My papers and elements need to look good and CLEAR when I view them at 100% in PS.
